What Seamless Performance is All About

As humans we are designed to be forward moving beings and as athletes, especially,  we want to be able to move with explosiveness.  All athletes strive to be stronger, faster, and to out perform the opposition.   And bigger is better right?  What if I told you that the traditional methods of power-lifting and being really strong in the weight room is not the most effective way to maximize your performance on the field/court?  The difference with Seamless Performance is that the training we do translates directly to your sport, with programs specific to the athletes' development.  In all sport, except power/Olympic lifting, the athlete is consistently moving and rarely required to squat, deadlift, power clean, etc. a heavy weight.  (Power/Olympic style training actually reinforces reverse movement and slow twitch muscle fibers). The athlete needs to be explosive in their movements when playing sports such as basketball, football, lacrosse, soccer, etc.  In order to achieve explosive muscle we need to train in such a way that mimics movement in sport and builds quick-twitch muscle fibers.  Muscles should be strengthened and trained to react fast and securely when needed to accelerate, stop, cut, and jump while playing.  

The best ability in sports is availability, and at all levels there are injuries that keep athletes sidelined.  Seamless Performance prides itself on the ability to prevent injuries through reinforcement of proper bio-mechanics and building joint strength and stability.  Lifting with too much weight and neglecting joint stability and progressive loading increases the rate of non-contact injuries to athletes, much less the risk of injury after being pushed, bumped of balance, or tackled depending on the sport played.  The programs for athletes at Seamless Performance teach proper weight distribution and alignment through the legs resulting in less unnecessary twisting and grinding of tendons, ligaments, and joints.  Its important to train with proper movement patterns in all athletes, especially young athletes who are just starting to train.  Seamless Performance recognizes that humans operate from the ground up, with our feet and legs being responsible for majority of daily movement and stability throughout the body.  We believe that with emphasis on alignment of joint segments and strengthening the lower body properly, the rest of the body will move more fluidly and with less tension.  

  

For Athletes to be able to perform at their highest potential day in and day out, it is very important that they strengthen their bodies properly, correct poor bio-mechanics, and maximize time spent training.  The idea of Seamless Performance is that athletes will train in a consistent, safe manner to gain strength, speed, and agility.  We take a more holistic approach to athletic training, incorporating dynamic mobility with explosive strength development that translates directly to your sport.
